The T2803-50A Handheld Fiber Sources are enhanced 850/1300nm LED sources designed for 50/125μm multimode fiber testing modified for industry specific launch conditions in the military and aviation. These customized instruments feature a 50μm output port with a predefined launch condition. No additional patch cords, launch cables or mandrel wraps are required. This reduces the risk of FOD and ensures no additional parts or accessories which could be left behind in an aircraft.

The T2803 series sources are used with optical power meters for testing optical loss on multimode fibers. A multi-fiber tone feature makes for handy continuity / polarity testing and fault finding, also for use with clip-on traffic identifiers.
