Online Orders Return Policy
We stand behind every test and measurement instrument we build. If your order isn’t right, we’ll make it right.
If you have a standard return to process click here.
01 / ONLINE ORDER RETURN WINDOW
You Have 30 Days
You can return new, unused items for a refund or exchange within 30 days of the delivery date. We use the delivery date confirmed by the carrier — not the date you opened the box.
02 / ELIGIBLE ITEMS
What You Can Return
To qualify for an online return, your item needs to be:
- Purchased online directly from tempocom.com (orders from other retailers go back to that retailer)
- New and unused items
- In the original packaging
- Complete with everything that came in the box: probes, leads, cases, manuals, calibration certificates, etc.
- If you have a standard return, click here.
03 / EXCLUSIONS
What You Can't Return
These items aren’t eligible for return:
- Calibrated instruments where the calibration seal has been broken or the unit has been used in the field
- Custom-configured or special-order equipment
- Software, firmware downloads, and digital products
- Opened consumables — replacement probes, test leads, or batteries removed from packaging
- Anything returned more than 30 days after delivery
Heads Up: Calibrated Instruments
Once the calibration seal is broken, we can’t accept the instrument back for a refund. If you need recalibration instead, our service team can help.

We’ll send you a prepaid label at no cost. See Dead on Arrival below for how DOA returns are evaluated.
A flat $14.95 return label fee will be deducted from your refund. You can also use your own carrier if you prefer.
06 / RESTOCKING FEES
Restocking Fees

25%
Opened but unused, in resellable condition
25%
Kits or bundles with missing components
Full retail value of missing parts
07 / DOA
Dead on Arrival
If your instrument doesn’t power on or work properly out of the box, contact us within 7 days of delivery and we’ll classify it as Dead on Arrival (DOA).
We’ll send you a prepaid return label right away — no questions asked up front. Once we receive the unit, our service team will evaluate it.
Based on what our techs find, one of two things happens:
Full refund or free replacement. We cover return shipping. No restocking fee. You choose the resolution.
We’ll process it as a standard return. The cost of the return label and applicable restocking fee will be deducted from your refund.
Why We Evaluate
Most test equipment issues turn out to be defects we’ll happily make right. Occasionally, a unit is fine but a setting, probe connection, or test setup caused the reading. Evaluation lets us tell the difference quickly and fairly.
If you’re not sure whether your unit is truly DOA, contact our technical support team first — we can often resolve setup issues in a few minutes by phone or email and save you the trip to the carrier.
08 / REFUNDS
How and When You'll Be Refunded
Refunds go back to the original payment method. We don’t issue store credit unless you request it.
Once we receive your return, inspection typically takes 5 business days. After we approve it, allow another 5–10 business days for the credit to show up on your statement, depending on your bank.
You’ll get back what you paid for the item, minus:
- Any restocking fee (see above)
- The $14.95 return label fee, if applicable
- Original shipping charges (non-refundable, except for defective or incorrect items)
09 / EXCHANGES
Need a Different Model?
The fastest way to get the right equipment is to start a return through our portal and place a new order for the model you want.
10 / WARRANTY
Warranty Claims Are Different
If your Tempo product develops a defect after the 30-day return window, it’s a warranty claim, not a return.
Warranty terms vary by product line. Check the warranty card in your box or visit our warranty page to file a claim.
11 / DAMAGED SHIPMENTS
Damaged or Wrong Item
If your online order shows up damaged or we sent the wrong thing, contact us within 7 days of delivery with:
- Your order number
- Photos of the packaging and the product
We’ll make it right at no cost to you. Defective or incorrect shipments don’t count against your 30-day return window.
12 / PRO ACCOUNTS
Professional & Contractor Accounts
If you have a Tempo Pro or trade account, your return terms may differ from this policy. Check your account agreement or talk to your rep.
