Overview
Tempo Report Writer is an application that has been developed for Android and iOS devices that allows a user to connect to various Tempo Communications testers (at time of writing this includes CS90, TV90E, TV220E and TV220EX but may expand in the future) and securely download files directly or files can be transferred via memory devices (USB drives or SD cards) to the processing computer/phone/tablet.
Reports can be built up of one or more traces from one or more testers and can be transferred as “Tempo Report Writer” files or as Portable Document Format (PDF) reports. Both these and “traces” can be “shared” by the user from within the application using the operating systems built-in “Share” functionality.
The user can add notes and comments to reports to help with documentation of work. However, it is the user’s responsibility to ensure that any personally identifiable information stored within a report remains confidential within their local corporate and national “data protection” guidelines.
Tempo stores none of the information upon our own servers or systems; all data remain within the tester and the communicating device running TRWe unless specifically shared using email, file sharing (cloud) or similar services that may be available to the user on their portable device (phone/tablet or computer).
Our privacy practices may vary among the countries in which we operate to reflect local practices and legal requirements.
Application Permissions Required and Reasons (Android)
Internet
This is required to make “internet protocol” connections over the “private” wireless link to the Tempo Communications tester.
External Storage (read and write)
This is required to allow the application to store data.
Wi-Fi Access
This allows the application to examine and change the status of the current Wi-Fi network.
Network Access
The application must have permission to check the current network state and to change it as needed, for example to connect to the Tempo Tester. When not required the application will restore the previous connection.
Location Access
Fine location access is required to identify the applications GPS location. Coarse location is required to allow accessing the list of available Wi-Fi networks.
